Some Things

Accidental Poet

There are things I can do

And things that I can’t

Things that I might

And some that I shan't

From left field to home plate

I could throw I mean baseball

I’ve read a few books

But I doubt I’ll read them all

Been behind many a steering wheel

Driven a million miles

Cried my share of tears

Worn a trillion smiles

In my life

I’ve done many things

I’ll do many more

Just don’t ask me to sing

I’ve been known by some

To push a wordy pen

About first love and my

Virgin heart of ten

But life really sucks

When I run into a brick wall

Knowledge of the task

I’m at a loss and just fall

Different people

Can do many things

I do what I can

Sometimes, even apologizing

Some of the best

Encouragement they give

Still others with help

The dream they can live

I’ll just be content

With what I know how to do

Giving my best thanks

That’s all I can do

True words AP, we can only do what we are able to do in our lives.

So very true dearest A.P 🌹

Thank you doesn't seem enough for your support and encouragement Teddy. It's taken a great deal of soul searching to accept some things in my life. Sometimes I get there easily, sometimes not so easily. But I want you to know how very much you're appreciated. Friends like you don't come along every day, and I want you to know that I know that too. Friends that don't give up on you because you fall short of a dream come true. Always remember Teddy, that I believe in you. πŸŒΉπŸ«‚

As I believe in you and I know that you will achieve what you wish more than anything, I know you will find a way to do it πŸ€—

That’s all that we all can really do! Reminds me of that song where the famous line goes: β€œbut I won’t do that!”

Thank you arqios. Meatloaf sang that song. Great singer. Thanks for your encouragement arqios. πŸ«‚πŸ‘

Giving of your best. You can do no more than that AP and it’s impossible to be a master of everything. I haven’t seen a poem from you for a while, so it was delightful to come across this one. Your last stanza says it all.

And I thank you Cassie for the read and compliment. I've been taking some time off. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

your giving your best is more than enough - because it is still much more than what some people i personally know are capable of.
                all the best
