Overcast

Endeavor Willis

The sky is overcast, yet

You insist I see your rainbow

There is no sun, only gray

It’s 93 million miles away

So there can be no rainbow

Not for you, not for me

Trust me darling, you fool yourself

The sun never shines for the like of us

(For me)

And our (my) only silver lining is

The overcast sky we see

(I cannot stand you doing better than me)

Come, let us wallow together

Under this pitiful storm

For we (I) can find some warmth

As long as we have each other

(As long as I can keep you here with me)
