Meara’s Next Town

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

It’s early in the morning and Meara is just pouring her first cup of coffee. She has one more stop today. So she hopes to get out nice and early. Her mind wanders to Mellan and for some reason she hopes he’s doing ok. It seems like he’s got a lot on his mind; but he’s helpful just the same. She can see that he’s been through more than his fair share of hard times. How he keeps his distance. The sadness in his eyes. Off to Plymouth Vermont today for a bit more history and sights. She goes to warm up her car and spots Mellan outside. “Good Morning Meara!” He says with a gleam in his eye; “Good morning Mellan.” “How was your night?” “Thank you for asking; I slept very well.” “Good to hear.” “I’m off to a new destination in case you couldn’t tell.” Mellan is extra cautious because Meara looks more beautiful today. “Would it be alright if I tag along?” “I can show you around, I know just the place.”  “What?” “Where did that come from?” He asks himself; I don’t need a hopeless romantic in my life.” “This woman doesn’t need my help.” “Do you really want to tag along with me?” “I can tell you’re already busy.” “I don’t mind at all.” “It would make for a pleasant day.” “You need inspiration and I can lead the way.” “What in the world is going on with me?” “Why can’t I let her be?” “Well I’d love to have you and king join me!” Mellan can’t believe what he just got himself into. How does this turn out? If you want to know, you know what to do.
