Stuck in a noose & Inaccessible

Maplespal

Stuck in a noose

Why does everyone use their religion as an excuse?

By now using religion to protect yourself is abuse.

Dragging your religion to the gutter with you,

an excuse that ties religion to whatever wrong you do.

Let us not admit that you, not religion is to blame,

because your religious does not mean it’s in the game.

Break the law and pay the price without a religious shout,

the crime you committed is not what religion is about.

Wasting your money and time on a faith so misused,

conceitedly spouting to everyone your religious views.

Using all the preaching as an outdated excuse,

all because your stuck in religions noose.

Inaccessible

The steps seem to lead the way to go,

is there another way to get to the show.

This venue not accessible to everyone,

why was it picked for the show to be done.

I am not one to complain about my plight,

it is just when faced with this type of site,

I feel a need to vent a little bit of steam.

Long ago I would shout and scream,

demand some help and curse the site.

Now I just simply remain calm and polite,

no longer show my frustrations side,

I just wheel away and roll for a ride.

To myself speak of the show I won’t see.

Wheelchair life sometimes is hard to be.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I saw a news story where the man said yes was being arrested because is a Jew. So tired of hearing religious excuses for breaking the law. Second poem, just remembering a conversation with someone in a wheelchair from years ago in Paris. He was use to no access in the late 90's.

Two points about two different points. Nevertheless, I have seen many use their religion as an excuse and sometimes to swindle others. Very nicely said
