Mrs Bonnie Mae Clutter.

David Wakeling

Mrs Bonnie Clutter lived with a darkness called post-partum depression,
The birth of her children left her tired and unable to see the Sun,
At 45 years old there was hope of a cure for her situation,
The black dog was tired and ended his constant degredation.
Bonnie was told an operation would possibly cure her sadness,
But this world of pain is governed by madness.

In November 1959, in Holcomb Kansas, when Jesus love his children,
Bonnie and her family were murdered without reason,
Most of us only suffer death once. She died three times that night,
To know you children will be shot in the head is beyond fright.

As she was lead into the bedroom,She looked at Jesus on the wall.
A voice in her head said Jesus doesn’t protect you against a guns at all.
"Take ye heed: watch and pray. For ye know not when the time is."

Will the children of Holcomb learn a skipping game like this:

Poor Mrs Clutter,Clutter,
Lived on bread and Butter, butter.
This is what the papers said,
She saw her Nancy shot in the head,

This world of fear we hold so dear is all beyond our will.
Don’t look for Love it’s dead and hope is terminally ill.

A very dark story with a very dark ending. Clover wording and rhyme make this almost a dark child’s nursery rhyme.
