Winter's Night Solace

ivynoir.2507

Memories weighed heavy on my heart,
A lonely winter's night, we'd been apart.
I walked, a solitary figure, lost in thought,
My shadow, the sole companion, in the foggy plot.
The empty streets, a reflection of my soul,
A hollow heart, with pieces scattered whole.
I wandered, trying to gather the shards of my past,
To mend the cracks, and let love forever last.
In this quiet night, I searched for a brand new start,
A chance to rebuild, to heal, and to restart.
With every step, I let go of the pain,
And welcomed the dawn, with a heart that could love again.
