I Ask No More

Kevin Hulme

They tell me there is Beauty in this World

Beyond the Borders of my foggy Pane ,

With many lands of great differing Tongue ,

And varied quaint customs of Ancient birth.

Such Music Devine by Doric Columns ,

Under spreading Roofs of Florentine Art,

Sacred Temples flame gold by Evening Sun,

And mighty Falls voicing thunderous Cries .

Meadows of green by restless Swirling Sea,

Heavenly Stars like scattered Jewellery .

But; here within these enclosing Strong Arms ,

My World is at rest and Sleeping awhile ,

My Radiant Dawn and Quiet tranquil Dusk .

And I feel the fluttering, Heart on Heart ,

The low sighing waves of soft fulfilled breath ,

Her contented Smile of being so Loved.

I ; hold all World’s Beauty-

I Ask no more.
