REVERSING MINDS

Khushi Bedmutha

Every now and then the Mind tosses,

Like a penny it changes,

The Head remains with the Head,

The Tail in favor of the Heart.

Mind is impromptu and reflective,

Heart says why be objective?

Both swing to and fro,

To the God, for consequence I bow.

Like a game of Snake and Ladder,

The Mind leaves me all shatter,

sometimes up, sometimes down

The Heart passes from Breakdown,

One day the Heart falls emotionally,

Breaking all the walls rationally,

Involving Mind is tragic,

Hence, Love surpasses Logic.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is personally attached to me. Through this, I aspire to explain the dilemma of mind when asked to choose between Heart and Mind. As mentioned, my Mind opposes my decision because of it\\\'s objective nature but again the reflective nature of my Heart surpasses all the logics and practicality given by the Mind. No matter how much I divert myself, the manipulative love always makes me sink into its deep and silent love. This is the beauty of Heart, this is the immortal nature of Love.

all to often we are all ruled by our heart, hence why there is so much sadness around. I really enjoyed the read, beautifully written.
