Time Resigns

Dan Williams

I cannot see your purpose,

I cannot know what you have vowed;

I feel miles away, somehow

try over and over, still cannot conceive

why you continue this way.

I cannot see love before me,

no continuity nor grievances relieved.

I could maybe touch something real

but the price is so much more than I can pay.

 What we have been told so many times about time

is a foolish lie, bells that never actually ring;

more likely time quietly, gradually resigns

without healing one single thing.

    Here I hear the frustration and hopelessness of a situation. This is a poem of darkness. Nicely written, it conveys its feeling well.
