A Syllable Unstressed

Ishwar Chandra

Oh, how I long to bask in your sweet embrace,

To feel your soft skin and gaze upon your face.

In your tender breasts I find my greatest peace,

Where my worries disappear and my fears cease.

I yearn to lie my head upon your lap,

For there I forget all the chaos and mishap.

In your embrace I find solace and rest—

My mind becomes free, and my body—a syllable unstressed.
