Holiday Jazz and Raven Claws

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Tristan πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
Here I
Sit in my own
Cozy, warm, little den
Listening to some holiday
Jazz tunes.

I am
Stuck in a state
Of eternal sadness
Brought on by feelings of self-doubt.
Haunted.

I paint
My whole abode
In shades of ebony;
A shroud of raven claws blankets
My heart.

I’m told
That all wounds heal
In time; Yet, I feel that
I’m lost even as I strive to
Echo

All the
Things I’ve been taught
About life’s happiness;
To obey such folly won’t
Find joy.

Here I,
Stuck in a state—
In shades of ebony—
I’m lost even as I strive to
Find joy.

Sometimes we can’t find happiness even if we want to feel that way . Sounds like the state of mind and environment isn’t helping. I guess we can be stuck with how we feel ,sometimes

Thank you, my friend! Indeed, sometimes we certainly can be. Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to thoughtfully respond! I always appreciate it! β€οΈπŸ™

A read on the darker side it seems to have a feel of Gothic to it. That’s OK though I like cloudy days from time to time. Written with great imagery and a sense of pathos.

Yeah...def a poem true to my form! πŸ˜‚ Though I haven't ever done a cinquain gariand before, speaking of forms. But it definitely has a Gothic feel to it. I am glad that, despite the clouds, you found it likable! Thank you so much for your time and your thoughtful feedback! I always appreciate it, my friend! β€οΈπŸ™

Oh, I can so relate to these emotions. Really well expressed and without any pretence or complications. Well played on the form too!

Thank you so much my friend! I am very happy the poem resonated...though I we both know how unhappy these emotions are. At least we are not alone in those feelings and for that I am grateful! Thank you again for the read and the thoughtful comment. Glad the form delivered too! It was a fun challenge. β€οΈπŸ™
