Children Of War

TobaniNataiella

Children Of War.

Children are not born with a heart full of hate.

Children do not have control over their own fate.

Children do not understand their parent’s views.

Children don't pump their egos to make the news.

Children are not aware of the history of the land.

Children are just too young to really understand.

Children do not blow the buildings to the ground.

Children do not torture to hear the screaming sound.

Children do not have evil and revenge in their heart.

Children have no interest in ripping their world apart.

Children don't want to watch both their parents die.

Children don't want the chemicals stinging their eyes.

Children don't ask please can I slowly starve to death.

Children only have innocence and hope in their head.

Children don’t want to play out in fear of the bomb.

Children just want to live a life, safe with a bit of fun.

Children want to know when their food is coming.

Children want to feel their parents caring and loving.

Children want to live in a fun, happy and caring space.

Children just want the world to be a safe better place.

Children just want to be children in a friendly world.

Where stories of hate and fear should never be told

Children are the ones who pay the price of all wars.

Children are the ones who are left to heal the scars.

Children are the ones who will have to fight to survive.

As the world watches on all the children slowly die.

I have said it before and am sure I shall say it again and again, it's a sad old sorry old world and I am sick of warmongers and hatred .. give me peace any day of the week

Thank you Neville for your comment, and i totally echo that sentiment

The innocence of childhood is often punctuated by their exposure to its pain and injustice. Children are a symbol of all people’s helplessness under governments, ulterior motives, and unjust actions. Very nicely written.

A most disturbing poem about the innocence of children and how they are affected by the world around them. It also seems a metaphor for people in general that are helpless under the actions of governments that control their lives. Very nicely written.

Thank you Soren, i find in this modern world there is no valid excuse for it.

No responsible parent should produce a child into a world where there is no hope of their offspring ever reaching their full potential.

              • TobaniNataiella

Thank you Dave for your comment, i agree with your words, except that you are not always aware when war is coming.

                • Doggerel Dave

No? But where in this world, prior to the current conflicts, existed the country/nation now involved in which offspring had ever the chance of reaching their full potential?

Thank you for your comment, i respect your views and will leave it at that, enjoy the rest of your day

Half the world in conflict and the suffering brings shame on our species, it is always the innocent children who are caught up in the warmongering. If they survive, however do they live with the horrors. A hard hitting write Tobani.

Thank you Cassie for your kind comment, and that is the main problem for them, even when the war ends the horror continues

A reality that's is worth the reflection, bringing a child in the world, it is the job of every parent to teach our children the positives of life not the negatives that spread the hate and greed that is currently hurting us all. I'm not sure what the next chapter of the Trump administration will do for good, but we are all waiting to find out, I personally have little hope. ❀️
