I guess its life and my mistakes

Sometimes things happen in order for you to be saved

You'll reminisce and be sad 

But as time passes you'll be thankful for what you had

Those moments where everything was funny and when time seemed to go unnoticed

It's sad really 

As time passes you really do lose it all

Your expected to stand there with your head and shoulders tall

It'll feel like the world is against you

You've already lost family and friends

Its like you never know where you'll end 

You'll stand there staring and yet everything will look confusing

You'll forget because you have to continue 

But as time passes 

You'll realize sadly 

You had to grow

You had to learn 

You had to understand 

Sonder is real 

It can happen to your closest friends

So as time passes be grateful for all you do 

Be thankful for all you see 

Cherish those friends 

Moments

And memories

Learn to accept and face the battles head on

Growing up is learning and understanding what it means to be strong

  • Comment from author about the poem: I’ve lost a lot of people these past few months and tonight is when it hit me. I don’t get to meet those same people again. I'll never be able to go back to that. Those memories and photos are all I have left. Although there are so many different reasons and things that happened. I can still say I have love for them all and I wish them well.

    Both your poem and your author note speaks to me. Life is about learning. Not everything goes to plan, but we grow stronger where we break. Losing people we live is hard. Grief takes time, it dies eventually soften. Thank you for scaring your words with us.
