"The Devil's Waltz"

Neil Higgins

The Devil's Waltz

In dim-lit halls where shadows dance, restraint dissolves.

The fiddler's bow draws sin, hunger, and haunting.

Each step and turn, a whispered pact, desire’s resolve,

Temptation twirls its partner close.

Beneath cold eyes that stare in silence, smirk, and brawl,

The Devil grins, as mortals spin, 'til daylight calls.

And in this waltz, the soul is swayed and always lost.

Till dawn's light breaks, the music fades against hallowed walls.Stellar dust in sombre night, Twilight's veil, consumer upon the howling tempest.

An elegy all shattered,Where screaming angels pursue their prey.
