In my mind, tricks do play
Happens to me every day
Panic strikes and fear sets in
This is how my day begins
I gasp for air and try to breath
Fighting thoughts which deceive
Yet, with trembling hands and a pounding heart
I see the shadows in the dark.
They gently whisper calling me
Making sure I do see
They are here and want to play
And have no plans to go away
I saw the sun shine one day
But the clouds chased it away
I hide away so no one sees
This terror living inside of me
Loneliness’ has become my friend
She’ll stay by me until the end
With promises one day we’ll be
A shadow in the dark we see.

Fear,
Your sheer
Nerve in trying to frighten me!
I think Mr. Carl Jung might like your poem.
Thank you
Fear and loneliness are such a curse. Leads to isolation. Your stanzas are nicely composed with end rhyme. Pleased to meet you teardrop.
Thank you Cassie
Very nicely written touching a subject that many people are suffering behind closed doors, enjoyed the read
Thank you
You are very welcome
A beautiful metaphor with great imagery. Many of us hide in the shadows and live under cloudy skies. This dreary sadness is not necessary and the sun is available to all. It shines on all creatures equally. What is a shadow in the morning maybe bright sun in the afternoon. A beautiful poem that has deep meaning
Thank You
there are far too many lonely and sad people around aren't there .. and with eight point two billion people on the planet as of now, one must ask what on earth is going on .. having said that, I think these fine words of yours were simply crying out to be written & I applaud you teardrop .. a fine introduction to your ink ma'am .. Neville 😎
