Dinner With Mellan

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

Meara and Mellan have decided to eat dinner together. Get some place warm and out of the cold weather. There are many warm and friendly places to choose from. Quite honestly Meara doesn’t mind just  being alone with Mellan. They choose a tavern with many beautiful Mountain Views! They get seated in a little corner booth. “Tell me about you Meara.” “What’s your story?” “Well,” she says;  “I love writing!” “As you can see!” Places like Vermont can be fascinating wouldn’t you agree?” “Little small towns trying to raise their families!” “All families are different and some may struggle harder than others.” “But it’s nice to know that they can count on each other.” “I’m not saying it’s always perfect.” “But it’s the little things that make life worth it.” As Meara speaks, Mellan listens and starts to see that Meara’s passion for life has a way of making him feel free. Free to let go and give love a second chance. Who would’ve thought he’d fall for a woman who adores romance? I have one more part to this saga of mine; I hope you’ll tune in one last time.

  • Comment from author about the poem: There’s beauty no matter where it is you live. Nothing is ever perfect. Having a community of people who come together in hard times is just one of the many blessings in places like Vermont. Each town has its own unique history. Many good people try their hardest to make the most of their hometown.

Your placing rhyme in paragraph format is certainly unique and Ilike it. It is subtle and creates a flow in the reading. Very creative.
