Midnight Chimes to end the day,
It’s Hours now done all wiped away.
Whats been has gone and can’t return,
Though much we daily painfully yearn.
For Love Affairs that graced youths prime,
Now lost, begone, the theft of Time.
The Family Souls who’s Hearts we gave,
Were called some years into the grave.
A Childhood spent in playful days,
Now breathe disquiet of Adult ways.
For Cathedrals Toll to banish and slay,
To clear the path for come what may.
For what is now will soon be Past,
As what will be will never last.

Indeed, we tend to stay and hang on while hoping for what can be as well, all the while Time passes and continues: Always present and presently in short supply. Perhaps this is why we age…. While time remains timeless…
So true, we all age . Yes even Cliff Richard. Thank you.
