God, i have been woking up sweating again.
I cannot tell why all my dreams suddenly end,
Then the demon awakes, my nightmares begin.
Someone told me I could find eternal salvation.
I think I have been given the wrong directions.
I was told there would be a man all forgiving.
It turns out somebody been continually lying.
I ask the question, but they continue denying
I turned up to openly bare my faults and sins.
I knocked on the big gates, but no one was in.
I am left with a hollow soul seeking redemption.
Residing turmoil seeking complicated resolutions.
Needing to resist the darker side of temptation
This time i couldn't find what I was searching for.
So again, I'm going to try to sleep a little more.
Hopefully this time my nightmares will finally end.
And at last, my much-needed dreams will begin.

This is very insightful revealing a real vulnerability. It is always a mistake to put your faith in religion but sadly we need to put our faith in something. Wonderful poem.It made me think for the first time in decades
