His new Girl

athena.walker

He's with his girl
whispering sweet nothings to her
A longing look in her eyes
The ones I had

Now he's with his girl
Holding her hands, pecking her knuckles
Rose creeping up her cheeks
The ones I wanted

Now he's with his girl
With an emotion in his eyes, I can't quite decipher
She returns the very same
Similar to the devotion I shared

Now he's with his girl
Late-night talks and longing looks
Dirty secrets and teasing glances
It has become their new daily

Now he's with his girl
Where he looks at her and forgets all
And I look at everyone to forget him
Living the life I planned for us

For all I know I loved him in some way
I could never love anyone
And for now and the eternity to come by
He'll always have a part of me to call by his
And I'll always have a part of me yearning to be labelled his.

I found this be quite a powerful poem and very well written about being in love with someone, knowing all it will ever be is in your head. Interesting read , Thank you
