Mother Earth lies in a cold bed
Bleeding, half dead
Industry takes turns at her
Savouring the pleasures she gave
Greenland turned green
Global warming, a thing of laugh
Pay up to make Earth clean
But, they will make war to take her apart
Bristling with impotent rage
Mute witness to brutal rape
Hiding behind Flags, excuses of Economy
Plundering her till she wilts one day
Rise my brothers and sisters
We might be zombies, but not dead
They take our silence as weakness
This is our home,
We shall defend till our last breaths
A voice floats in
Inhuman and embittered
There is no they here
It's us who were guilty from start

A thoughtful poem the place is blame back where control ends with ourselves. Plainly spoken it leads one to think about what is important. Nicely written.
Thank you very much!
We as Humans are guilty of so much, i enjoyed the read

Guilty as charged along with everyone else. Nicely written

Thank you very much. Your kind word means a lot
Our species have alot to answer for. Guilty of so much. Enjoyed the read. Thank you.
I guess Roger Waters said it best (although might be in a different context) The Spacies has Amused Itself To Death. Thank you for your time, support and kindness
As I try to write this one line, there's a clown on the radio who has just informed us that Russia has/is increasing its military expenditure, and therefore we must increase ours too......
YES in all caps. No one talks about the environmental footprints of the arms and ammunitions. Industry consider sustainability as another money spinner, GDP remains the key marker. At times it feels like the collective idiocy has been and always will be the hallmark of civilization. Thanks for your time, support and kindness
Not at all - It is really good to know that here there is someone who can see it so clearly.
