Reality Check

vicecream

How can a concept like money

or lack of it

make my body seethe and tighten with stress

Such that I have to focus on breathing

lest I forget how

it’s funny how the mind can convince the body of all the wrong things.

but there’s moments when I see that

Nothing could be as real as

the earth-spiced scent of this juniper branch

the richness of this steaming bowl of stew

the way we hold eachother so close our edges blur

What we consider real and why is a most interesting question. Based on senses and faith
