My Heart is Resilient

SA

Do not bring me a love that is faint.
If you're coming for me,
come with the fire of a thousand suns
and the strength of a roaring sea.
Come ready to cleanse the ashes from my heart,
which has been scarred before.
And come fearlessly
or not at all.
Timidity bores me,
and anything ordinary must be for someone else—
not for me.
I crave a love like lightning,
and passion that shakes the ground.
I remember facing the world alone,
and if I can do that,
what makes you think I'll wait for anything
that isn't everything?
I'm not in this for safety and security.
Give me your honesty
and let it cut to the bone.
But please,
cut deeply.
Some of us become so hardened
that our touch is too intense for anyone soft.
From the ashes I have risen,
like a Phoenix reborn,
embracing my scars as badges of honor,
my spirit blazing anew with strength and purpose.
My heart is resilient,
my eyes wide open.
I don't smile as often,
but I'll always love fiercely
or not at all.
