Memento Mori

Eugene S.

Went to work today

Only to find dismay

Feelings so very wrong

Under the surface they dance and play

First it was Stan, then it was Shaun

On one lonely weekday, both, gone

Who could have ever predicted this day

Empty times, when all is so very wrong

The enemy hovers over everything, it seems

No hindrances, full reign, as they tease

They do as they please, and we stand in awe

Frozen, just staring, they do as they please

They do as they please

Does the head swallow the tail?
Or the tale gets stuck in the Throat?
Note sure why I wrote that.

    • Eugene S.

Maybe a little of both, and maybe a little too easily or readily.

A touching and emotional poem, well written
