Have you ever existed in a song?
Filled so full of its sounds and charisma
You lose yourself so completely
In that feeling of elation
Euphoria
That thing where you just know…
This is it
How did I not know this existed?
Why have I missed so much
Wasted so much
Time
Energy
Brain power
When I could’ve found this?
I’m not good with words
I flit through the despairing library I call a brain
But nothing ever compares
Has never compared
To that state of completeness
Even, I scold myself now
Words are fickle
Never enough, not enough
These sounds and instruments
Are beyond the confines of human letters and symbols
Undefinable
Unexplainable
Irreplaceable
Forevermore
Is what they are

‘the words of an angsty teenager’ made sense to me at the other end of the life cycle. Yes, over the course of a long life I’ve happened across a couple of songs which spoke of what was a truth to me. And let me be argumentative from the start - you are good with words....
I hope you can feel at home at MPS. It is interactive, so do respond to others work and accept responses to your own. Take care.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. And yes, I’ll try my best to interact to the best of my abilities, thank you and thank you.
Welcome to MPS!
I’m glad to be here!
"I flit through the despairing library I call a brain" - this line is amazing. Sometimes the unwritten words are emotions that cannot be described but only experienced, and this poem definitely revoked those feelings of listening to the most perfect songs.
I’m glad it spoke to you in some way, as that’s the point of almost all works written.
If ‘Dancing Queen’ by ABBA comes on the Radio, it’s one song I can’t turn off.
All your daily Vitamins in that one Track.
Unfortunately, I haven’t listened to Dancing Queen by ABBA, but I do enjoy ‘The Winner Takes It All’ and ‘I Had A Dream’. It’s so satisfying when you have that song that hits you differently.
