Profound Dominance

mtrotter1

Calamity Jane was a dominant one

She knew what she was up against

And any surviving friend would tell you

She was one of a kind

And any lover would say,

'Oh what a woman!'

Lo and behold, she came out a champion

And she slayed horses left and right

And Jane was always a visionary

She saw right through the sun

How bright her future was

And every man loved the sound of her voice

Oh what a pretty woman she was

For Jane wore pretty hats

And such calamity turned on the masses

For her calamity made the news

All over this town

And she knew so much about everyone

From the color of their hair

To the pep in their step

And no one believed her

When she said she was crazy

But little did they know

What she felt inside

For inside she was lonely

And had only a bottle of whiskey

Hanging in the breeze...

For she was beautiful that way

Calamity Jane!

A solemn star in the making

Rising to the top

And making things happen

No one knew the revelry of her fate!

As she chose not to be provoked

A silent power overtook her

And she was as powerful as her loneliness

Calamity Jane on a horse;

Sweet roses, sweet roses

Do you breathe

The calamity of this dame?

For she was a dame alright!

She was a lady of suspense

And now here we are in the grandest rising

Honoring such a dame

For Jane is such a powerful name

The horses roam intrigued

And I will always know this profound dominance

For I value myself indeed

And all the people will remember

Calamity Jane!

Such a desolation to the spirits above

For loneliness is creeping

And alas, the bell has spoken.
