running on
2 hrs of sleep
the caffine
keeps me up
but I sit alone
lonely and
long for company
so I find it
theres always
someone
who wants
company
or your body
but isn't that
the same?

i can relate to the poem.lately have been down i just feel lonely ,caffein has been keeping me up,i feel am the audience of the poem
I'm very glad you relate, then I'm not the only one! I thought with a title so specific, it wouldn't be very applicable to a lot of ppl but here we are
This is deeper than the first glance does tell. Every one wants something and is that the same? Body, mind, money or your heart what is it you value? All in a point of view. A most thought provoking poem that bears the cynacism of age and the innocense of youth
i'm certainly a cynic if I know one! its so disheartening that almost everything can be bought, and one is bound to get the shorter end of the stick.
My dear friend, this poem packs a punch despite its deceptively simple appearance. I love how you've captured the loneliness and desperation of those late-night/early-morning hours. Been there and felt that. The line 'but isn't that / the same?' is particularly poignant, highlighting the blurred lines between genuine connection and physical presence/comfort. Your words resonate deeply, reminding me of similar experiences with insomnia and the search for connection. I very much appreciate this piece, NinjaGirl.🌹👏
I'm very glad you like it! It's a bit of a tragedy, I'll say, and sometimes I relate to the famous song saying "what is love? Baby, don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more." For such a popular song with an upbeat melody, it's rather sad. Sometimes I don't know the meaning of love, but I long for it, like an old friend. Maybe it's only human to want love.
Indeed. 💯 It is very human to want love. For sure...and I know the song and get the emotions you share. I appreciate you sharing them! 🙏
