The Highest Bidder

Bame Bame

There is hell on Earth, she met the devil
Born to be sold, a painful life on steroids
Put on display like merchandise
A world-wide business, she became a product of a franchise

she was an export turned into an escort

Kidnapped, isolated and violated
Traumatised and left feeling tainted
She went from being infected with STD’S
To suffering from PTSD
But she always had hope that maybe one day, she will be free

How can a human own another?
She was sold off by her own mother
Her parents created debt and used her as settlement

The worst-case of Child abandonment
Human rights violation for a profit

She mourns the dead dream of the girl child

Robbed of her innocence, in broad day light

Introduced to cruelty at an early age

Watching her beautiful smile slowly fade

That brilliant mind put in a cage

She got rescued but was she really free?
She relived the whole experience every single day

She saw the same monsters every night
She ate misery each morning for breakfast
How long will her sorrow and heartache last?

She still remembers the day she cried “save me, mama”
The person she trusted reached out her hand and handed her to another
She can’t live with the sad reality of what became of her life
She’s a survivor fighting each day to retain her title
She lives with the fear that many like her, are still at the mercy of the Highest Bidder
