A whisper Before the end

Jodie

Two souls entwined a vow to mend

Promises hand in hand to the end

She promise to live, to fight, to stay

he promises to breathe, come what may.

She whispered of peace her mind to ease

Promises are easily broken, like songs in the breeze.

Forgotten lyrics to a once love tune,

Lost in the shadows beneath the moon.

They both stumble through on life's cruel maze,

Bound by hope these days.

But as he stops to rest, to cope,

Her fragile grip unraveled hope.

She breaks their promise

Her lips goes blue , Fingertips grey,

A silent plea in his disarray.

The weight of a vow, the echo of pain,

She thinks about their promise,

Gun in hand, she wept unsure,

Praying he’d breathe, endure, live.

A broken promise, a fractured heart,

Bound by love, yet torn apart
