Balloon

Neil Higgins

So it rose to walk amongst the angel's treats.

With cloth all sewed

Prayer hampers aplenty

Zephyrus, god of the west wind, also known as the Messenger of Spring

Charts the direction

Whispering the arrival of albatross stories

Meaning a long and arduous journey

To a crew subdued but with a granite composure

All have been blessed.

And willingly enthused as aeronauts

Into the clouds and above the moon.

Loving the blending mythological elements, spiritual preparation, and the raw determination of a resolute crew. Thanks for sharing this poem!
