Simile of Life

Matthew R. Callies

Life is calm and serene like a
breeze on a warm spring day.
Peaceful and pacific.
Time seems to stand still
just for a moment, but
long enough for you to collect
your thoughts in tranquility.
Only the slight gust of wind
which blows across your face
making your heart as content
as a baby in their mother’s arms.
You can’t help but me amazed
at the things that surround you.
You nonchalantly walk an
unmarked path, lead only
by instincts.
The instincts that God Almighty
had given you on the day of
your conception.
