The leaf on the tree

domilla

Life rarely bends to desires.
The leaf on the tree that suddenly wants feet,
it grew restlessly in its stillness,
Wanting the thrill of chasing horizons.
unsatisfied with what life has dished it  with.

When life gives,
when life gifts,
we receive with thanks.
The leaf hunted by desire wanted more,
It refused to answer its call.

The roots anchor it to life,
the wind keeps it company,
lets it swing and greet it’s friends,
the  rain gives it’s blessings,
and the earth feeds it more than enough.

The  human would long for that,
long for that kind of life.
Having more than enough with just  stillness, sustained without having to grind,
without being burdened the weariness of pursuit.

we cannot wish for more than what is,
what is, is whole, more than what meets the eye.
Tears should not fall for what you can't have,
They will never fill the void,
only gratitude can.

Why blame it on a curse?
why mourn for the lack of legs?
Somewhere within, you know,
You are whole,
even in the absence of everything you long for.

A most important message at any time of the year but even more so at this time of the year. Well said in a powerful way it rings out like a bell and needs to be heard by all

People had plans over the years that didn’t work out . Gratitude is enough . Counting blessings is what should matter more
