The Turkey’s Done a Runner.
There was an old traditional farmer called Fred.
Who liked his organic turkey, healthy and fresh.
All year allowed to run free in the barn and field.
Until Christmas time then it's life it had to yield.
Christmas Eve he would pluck, remove his head.
Stuff it and started cooking before he went to bed.
This Christmas on going to find his nice fresh bird.
Fred found the field empty there was no bird there.
The whole family were gathered for a Christmas treat.
Now old Fred didn't have any meat for anyone to eat.
Seated at the table in anticipation of a tasty fresh bird.
Little mutterings among the guests started to be heard.
Plates piled to the brim with just potatoes and vegetables.
Fred got tired of his guest’s mutterings around the table.
Eventually he had to apologise for no meat on the plate.
But Freds nice fresh organic Turkey had made his escape.

Oh dear. And the turkey took off with the potato salad! Most enjoyed.
Thank you appreciated as always
You are welcome ππ»
A turkey pardoned by an escape how totally organic is that ? A most fun read and quite seasonal as well
Thank you, appreciated
You know I canβt help liking the fact that the poor turkey got away. The older I get the more difficult I find it to eat what was once roaming on farms or in fields. Having said that, I still managed some beef yesterday. Reminded me of Gordon Ramsey. Served up the turkey the kids had fed all year round for Christmas dinner. Oh my, eating your pets, definitely a no no. Hope you had a pleasant day yesterday Tobani. All the best.
I agree i could not eat the pets, All the best to you too
