A society that pushes love
yet so much to love that we do not know
A husband that loves a wife
yet still has friends that he loves as well
A wife that that loves a husband
yet is not allowed male friends
A problem of jealousy that spurs
yet no talk about entitlement to a person
A dedication to be with only one person
yet still attracted to a lot of other people
A lover shouldn’t restrict love
yet restricting love brings safety/security
A paradox we must face
yet pleasure we gain

Ah love, the many facets of it. You raise some interesting points here in your lines about monogamy Demar Desu. All I can say is that infidelity causes massive heartbreak. All the best.
Definitely would rather soothe the heart, heart break should be avoided if possible nobody deserves to be hurt by a lover.
A very poignant, write Humans were not meant to be monogamous. This was forced upon a by society, religion and personal need for domination. It is a beautiful thing when given freely but ugly when demanded.
Definitely ugly when forced, like you said religion, society a personal need for domination it seems like has created these conditions for monogamy and through that conditioning has created relationships of dominant and servant. When two people choose to be monogamous I think it is beautiful.
Very thought-provoking write, my friend...and I see what you did in terms of juxtaposition...a poem on the problem of polyamory and a follow up on the problem of monogamy. It makes for a neat dialogue between the two poems and the issues that may arise in the two forms of marital relations and customs. Brilliantly done, my friend! 🌹👏
Gotta love relationships in general. Thank you as always for your kindness
Indeed! You’re welcome brro!
