How Sweet is the Death

Kevin Hulme

I’ve falling in Love and how the water is deep,

I’m fighting for breath and all reason to keep.

The waves are now strong, overwhelming in force,

The most ancient of tales is now running its course .

A Tsunami of pain on its Mountainous turn,

With the salt on my lips like the Kisses that burn.

The tide how it pulls and is dragging me down,

I’m treading on currents that all passion has wound.

Fathom on Fathom and League upon League,

Those chapters of Love and the emotions they breed.

And under I go to the welcoming bed,

Where all fevered Hearts are ultimately shed.

Deeper and deeper to the unknowing depth,

How strong is the pain;

How sweet is the death.

Loving the rhythm and rhyme, hoping it’s not a swan song of sorts, perhaps the year farewelling, now that’s an enticing thought. Superb images!

Swan- Song ? No . I just liked to use ‘Drowning’ as a Analogy for Falling in Love.
          Thanks for reading.

Cool! A worthy analogy. Pardon the giddy-end-of-year-hasty responses. Must be all that processed sugar and salts.

Really enjoyed the read, and it does feel like drowning a lot of the time

Yes, a Life-Belt might be the answer. Thank you.

                You are very welcome
