This New Year, Ushering In, I Hope

The New Year, Ushering In, I Hope

The new year, ushering in, I hope—
will sing a hymn rising softly within my soul,
an endless melody that unfurls life,
its echoes weaving threads of gold,
etching ecstasy into the quiet breath of dawn.

This new year, ushering in, I hope,
will break the brittle mirrors of illusion—
those spiked shadows too fragile to contain,
shattering in sharp, glinting fragments,
each shard unraveling the ghost I wear.

Illusions of truth and borrowed reality
have long pursued me with silent blades—
a slow erosion, deliberate and cold,
where each second chisels at the heart,
and each day stands as a faceless judge.

But this new year, ushering in, I hope,
will unmake the mask I once clung to,
reduce its whisper to smoldering ash,
until dark dreams crumble into their own grave.
Let the flame of my essence rise—
bright enough to devour what deceives.
