I'm looking back on the year

LP2187

I’m looking back on the year

Where change was always near

Everyday was an accomplishment

Holding so much development

I’m looking back on the days

That I taught myself new ways

To live my life as best as I could

And know things that I never understood

I’m looking back on the weeks

Where I climbed such frosted peaks

And overcame many impossible times

By inventing poetic rhymes

I’m looking back on the months

That I only experienced once

For every single thing I knew

Always impacted and changed my view

I’m looking back on the year

With so much heartfelt cheer

I can’t believe I’ve made it through

And how much as an individual that I grew

But now I’m looking beyond

Hoping for a better future

And without feeling alarmed

Onward in life I shall venture

I'm always surprised by how different poets think and see from each other.
