I walk the border of the great unknown,
Bound by fears I've made my own.
A heart that yearns for brighter skies,
But hesitates as courage dies.
Sleeves rolled high, I face the day,
Wrestling doubts that cloud my way.
Each step forward feels like two steps back,
Lost in a maze where courage lacks.
The weight of thoughts I cannot release,
Dreams undone, I search for peace.
A restless mind in a sleepless haze,
Counting regrets through endless days.
What is love but a fleeting fight,
To hold on tight through darkest nights?
A tethered soul that craves to be free,
But clings to chains of insecurity.
Change, a word I barely trust,
Yet feel its pull beneath the dust.
The waters rise, they meet my chest,
A quiet plea for peace and rest.
The world moves fast; I lag behind,
Caught in loops of my own design.
But in the chaos, a whisper grows,
A spark ignites, a purpose shows.
Lonely hearts, do you feel the same?
Chasing solace, escaping shame.
In the noise, a fragile plea,
To find someone who feels like me.
We build our walls, we guard our pain,
Yet search for hope in the pouring rain.
Somewhere out there, a hand may reach,
A bond to heal, a truth to teach.
Though I stumble and though I fall,
I’ll face the mirrors that line the hall.
For in the cracks, a light still gleams,
A fragile strength, a thread of dreams.
Lost a piece of me, God, is there someone who can see?
This hollow space where hope should be.
No, I can't be the only soul searching for light,
No, I can't be the only one lost in the night.
Through the struggle, I’ll learn to see—
The change I need begins with me.
A broken path may still lead home,
With every step, I'm less alone.

The change I need begins with me.
Such a powerful line in a finely penned poem. Much enjoyed poet. Takes courage to make changes. Happy new year.
A wonderful poem embracing the mistakes they have made, but also a positive attitude on how they can change all that, Very enjoyable read.
