warmth envelops
dissolving the
bustle and noise
liquid stillness
offers but a momentary
tranquil once upon a time
it is so easy to
drift off and forget
here the watery balm
soothes celiac rashes
a moment's reprieve
that shuts out reality
provides sombre retreat
cares float away
until unwanted thoughts
stray with blistered report
it is quite possible
through bolted locks
to lay victim
to home invasion
for someone to play
Corday to one's Marat
a hapless victim stabbed
at home in one's bath

One must question if one's radicalism prompts attack or is it just making oneself vulnerable in medicinal care. A poem that provokes thought.
Most interesting and deep thoughts there! Thank you Soren ποΈππ»
Nicely done,
Thanks, Friendship ποΈππ»
My friend, this carries such an eerie calmβ¦like the quiet before something terrible breaks the surface. The stillness of the bath slowly giving way to that historical dread lands beautifully. It left me with a real chill. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
A fine write, arqios. Keep the doors locked.
Or Stabbed in the Shower like Janet Leigh.
Enjoyable Poem.
'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times....so far like the present'... surely Chubb and Yale have it under control today... But things ain't looking good....And I might begin to worry what might be coming through the roof... four minute shower in order...
I found it a smooth but sinister write, Rik.
a thought provoking write...
