WHEN I DIE

MELFA THE POET

When I die

Don’t sob or shriek

for once in a lifetime

permanent sleep seeks

When mystic morning divorces me

In my next world

I’ll love and miss you

Embrace your humility, unfurled

when I depart

find solace in your heart

for you’ll forever be

a cherished part of me ….
