DARK HEART

nephilim56

Your dark heart
Showed no mercy
The sunless sky
Looked down.
Clouds they grimaced
Tearless watchers
As my world
Came tumbling down.

So much I envied
Your daggered eyes
Your slicing cuts
To my bone
I could never
Be so cruel
My love lost
Without a home.

Yet as I watched you
Walk away
A candles flame
In distant night
I lost my envy
Along with forgiveness
In my soul
It was right.

I can gradually feel the sense of loss.

The painful losing of a love, you can sense the loss and pain in the writing.

Loss although painful can be for the best although this is often not seen until much later and sometimes not at all

Knowing something is right, does not ease the pain of loss. Poignantly penned stanzas. Well done.
