A Dirty Sea Of Misery

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Staring down at the black, gritted tar road,
Souls darken, Satan sets them up to erode.
There is always hope, head held and kept high,
Watch out when they coyly cover just one eye.
Rules and laws broken by puppet politicians,
But they want us to obey, shut up and listen?
Legitimacy lost amongst a dirty sea of misery,
Overly excited to watch programming on TV?
Righteousness does not wear an expensive suit,
None of these headlines ever seem to compute.

You remind me here of the failure of politicians. There is so much corruption, greed and cover ups. Makes me want to weep. We seem to be swimming in filth. You say it as it is. Well penned.

A fair statement of the sad times we live in, controlled by people who have no interest in us at all, very well written
