Decay of Eros

Agantuk

I would like to walk around in your mind

Gliding through it's memories like ivory angels on ice

And see and hear, our pink laughter,

From our green days we spent without bother.

But time has been unkind, and you perhaps more,

We need words now unlike before,

And even they drought

Leaving only animosity throughout.

Permeating candor of somnambulant strife

Burning my heart like New York in 1835

At the realization, it was never us but I.

You get the sense off loss and a bit of resentment that a relationship that was committed to, turned out to be one way, nicely written
