I have been burned and maltreated much of my life,
sweet is gone, leaving mostly bitter.
But I came here as a Christian man,
tried it once, will try it again,
cause we know how god hates a quitter.
I loved only you, but you left me just the same.
Left me alive, off on the side,
with my desperate, unread love letters.
you have started again, shrugged off the shame
of being inside the skin of a quitter.

A difficult subject handled well. Nicely stated in most poetic form
I feel showing determination from both sides now, not to quit, even thou it is was one did do originally, well written
Got myself into a couple of scrapes like this, in my time. And itβs not the best space to be in. Save one thing, you have been more articulate with it than I have ever been. Your poem speaks volumes. ππ»π
