Love in such a way, dear,
As the chinar tree does –
Offering shade to the weary traveler
In the scorching sun,
And breathing life at night
So you may rest and rise anew.
Love, MyKoul says, in such a way
As a mother does –
Nourishing within her womb,
Enduring pain after pain.
And when you are delivered,
She does not let go –
Cradling you in infancy,
Bearing your burdens,
Sacrificing her breath
To see yours grow strong.
Love like a father,
Who toils for you in silence,
With no desire for reward.
Love like the sun,
Showering light and warmth
On all – pure and impure,
Believer and non-believer,
Without regard for race, color, or creed.
