The Heart of a Small Town

Confia.En.Tu.Corazon 87

In this cherished town where my roots run deep,

Memories flourish, treasures to keep.

Mountains stand tall, their whispers so clear,

Crisp, clean air fills my spirit with cheer.

Beneath the glow of streetlights so bright,

Childhood laughter dances, a joyful delight.

We’d wait for the call that rang through the night,

“Dinner is ready!”—a comforting light.

Pride in our schools, where dreams took their flight,

Football games rumbled with electric bright lights.

Cheers echoed loudly from miles away,

That touchdown made history on that unforgettable day.

Dances ignited a magical spark,

First love’s soft murmur lit up the dark.

Heartbreaks and giggles, each moment entwined,

This small town held wonders that shaped hearts and minds.

Skipping stones on the lake’s shimmering face,

Rebelling with friends in our wild, fearless race.

From innocent crushes to lessons we learned,

We thought we knew all; yet wisdom was earned.

Bright-eyed and daring, we chased every dream,

In a world full of hope, we were part of the bigger dream.

Just a small town? Some might say with a sigh!

But it’s a vault of our stories that reach for the sky.

So, here’s to the memories that light up our way—

In this heart of a small town, forever we’ll stay.

Very nostalgic this poem brings back memories of a simpler life, slower and more family and neighbor oriented where there was a sense of safety and home like feeling.
