Love and Hate. (What is the Difference)
What is the real difference between love and hate
Are they different, I find it impossible to separate.
Powerful feelings that gradually take full control
Inhabiting and demanding, you’ve nowhere to go.
Controlling your feelings, moods and their swings
Conflicting emotions they appear to always bring.
Eradicating the inner sanctum of common sense
Converting the mildest problems into ones so tense.
Your thoughts no longer can you claim your own
Hammering all your fears and insecurities home.
The ability to function and detect the lie or truth,
Friend or foe, all these abilities totally desert you.
Vision is hindered by the cloud of emotional smoke
That drive negativity and sway you to abandon hope.
Slowly but surely, they drive you completely insane,
No longer allowing you freedom to banish the pain.
You’re inhabiting the world you no longer understand.
Just left grasping for breath with your sweaty hands
You are thinking like you have never thought before
As you think it’s under control, they push a little more.
I do not know the difference; I think they are the same
The only difference I can really see, is possibly the name.
I can feel they are emotions that are very closely joined
Maybe It’s possible there just two sides of the same Coin

So true! You canβt have one without the other. ππ»πππ» Now to walk away and rethink this.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated, what did the last mean?
It is said that the one that can not hate you can not love you. So true such strong emotions in the jealousy of love and the pity of hate take on new meaning. Strong emotions are chemical explosions often difficult to discern the difference. A wonderful write that is deeply philosophical and scientific at the same time. All put in great rhyme a wonderful poem
Thank you for your positive feedback, as always very much appreciated
Love and hate are the same side of a coin. Emotions caught in verse. Really good read. Thanks. Hopefully love wins over hate and separate when the coin is flipped.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated
I have heard hate defined as being distinct from love. That is simply incorrect. In order to know love, one must know hate. In order to know hate, one must know love. They' are not distinct, but actually complimentary. The opposite sides of the same coin, as your poem rightly concludes. Rather, apathy is the opposite of love. That's how I see it, anywho. Well done. Very thought-provoking piece. πΉπ
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated as always
You're welcome my friend!
Sometimes love and hate feel so similar one can't distinguish between them without causing confusion or turmoil. I really like the metaphor of the coin meaning that they're difficult to separate. A great poem!
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated as always, enjoy the rest of your day
Thanks, you too.
Powerful work.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated
Great question (and reply). Clearly what many of us believe to be "love" isn't love. There is unconditional love. Is there such a thing as unconditional hate?!
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated ( unconditional hate could be possible)

Thank you for your feedback, Have a great weekend
I understood it finally. They are not opposites, they are similar...much more similar than I thought. Powerful emotions which makes you blind by all senses. This poem is evocative. Loved to read this one.
