Elsewhere...

The Night Owl

I caught myself
staring at you from across the room,
and that's when I knew,
my fate has stumbled upon you

As the sun sets beneath,
my eyes seek refuge in yours,
silently sweeping away
the shadows of doubt lingering around

Raindrops scattering the ground,
as if the heavens are weeping,
you held me in your embrace
when the fear of missing you crippled me deep within

These woven tapestries of love, stitched with laughter,
we wrap them in warmth,
safeguarding them in the vault of our hearts,
embarking on this serendipitous odyssey of love
that leads us to realms unknown,
perhaps woven to be destined from above

I say all’s well
that ends well
when you and I drift elsewhere...
leaving behind the echoes of love with laughter
we once shared, a symphony beyond compare

In the garden of our dreams, where time stands still,
each heartbeat a petal, fragile and torn,
With every glance toward the throne of thorns
beneath twilight’s embrace, where beauty is broken and reborn

  • Comment from author about the poem: Hello there! So the poem explores the thrill and uncertainty of falling for someone unexpectedly. It also revolves around the magic of destiny and fate, highlighting the power of love to create memories that last a lifetime. I also aimed to hint at the complexities of unreciprocated feelings, as well as the essence of endless possibilities and chance encounters. I hope the poem could resonate well with this idea. P.S:- Wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year!

If it is good love even if people do drift apart, good memories will remain. Enjoyed the read
