Now weary Postman just Pass on by,
With your leaflets of Junk that the Soul decries.
What Care do I of your Canine tales,
The continuing trials so to bring me the Mail.
No interest I have for all those tiresome Bills,
And the nights of drink they do instil.
And keep all messages from far-off hands,
Those distant old friends, and there friendship demands.
All Birthday Cards leave in the bag,
The greying Hair speak of the years I’ve had.
No; weary Postman just pass on by,
If there are no letters from HER;
Just pass on by.

A tale of a poor postman bringing everything except the letter you really want, a touching piece.
Thank you. Happy you liked it.
You are very welcome
This has got to be the best real life love poem I have stumbled upon since jumping ship .. Neville
βBest real life Poemβ , Thank you for the compliment and reading.
This brings to me a melancholic reality of yearning for a specific connection while feeling disillusioned with the mundane aspects of life. It could quite resonate with anyone who has experienced the bittersweet longing for a lost or distant love. Thanks for sharing, Kevin ππ»ππ»π
My pleasure, just happy you liked it.
Only too well! π
