These shining

Gleaming

Lights

Make me feel

Like I’m at home

The cross state lines

Running along

Like our minds

We could be

Lost together

The neon

Signs

Winking

But it feels

Different

Each day

I’m praying

That I’ll make

It back

Home

But nothing

Really feels

Like home

Until

I see

That although

I’m scared

That the place

I love

Is gone

And that

The silence

Is so strong

In this

World

I know I might

Be caught in

Somewhere

I don’t

Belong

But no matter

What

I won’t

Fear what

I don’t know

So I’m reaching

Out for

Something

That might

Not be real

Even though

I might be

Looking for

A reason to not

Lose my mind

I’m always

Going to be

At home

With you

Home is where the heart is and that could be with the living or with the departed depending on circumstances. No matter where in the world I am, I know where home is. A lovely poem.
