Natures Wonderful Residents of Africa

Natures Wonderful Residents of Africa..

Gus the gorilla stands tall, puffs and bangs his big chest.

To let everyone know he’s more powerful than all the rest.

Gerry the giraffe high above is having a long look around.

Then gets a bit of dizziness realising it is a long way down.

Termites incessantly marching backwards and forwards.

On guard and vigorously protecting their family borders.

Antelope are teasing the crocodile as he prepares to attack.

The crocodile will never help himself he has to snap back.

The poor old Zebras can only see things in black and white.

Quite often get caught crossing by the lion’s pride at night.

The leopard tries to come up with some fiendish new plots.

The other animals know it is difficult to change your spots.

A meerkat stands to attention guarding their home ground.

While the rest hoover up and eat grubs that can be found.

Panda practises the art of Kung Fu with his bamboo sticks.

Their friends have moved out, they just got tired of being hit.

Koalas do their best to make all the Kangaroos hopping mad.

Little Joe was so scared he wouldn’t come out of mum’s sack.

A hyena went for a tumble and a spin but broke his back leg.

The others didn't help at all just laugh their heads off instead.

The tiger is trying to catch something he’s in a right old huff.

If it doesn't improve soon, he will be back to the sugar puffs.

The Eagle flies regally and effortlessly across the bright sky.

Hunting out its prey with its laser vision pinpoint eagle eyes.

Buffalo are very easily irritated and have a very bad temper.

Provoke them too much and they will stampede all together.

The hippos wallow and love throwing their weight around.

Backed right up with the largest mouth in nature to be found.

The chimps screeching and swinging from the jungle trees.

Looking down on the jungle, but they do just as they please.

The elephant getting hassled at the water, making him upset.

He will get his own back in time, because he will not forget.

Cheaters give the Antelope a head start to find a safe place.

Everyone knows there can only be one winner of that race.

The King Lion has huge pride in his family’s hunting abilities.

They are the rulers of his tight knit self-sufficient community.

The vulture will always appear when others are tired or fed.

It is not fussy it will eat anything as long, as it is already dead.

Natures Wonderful residents of Africa a beautiful continent.

For its survival, now on all of mankind it is now dependent.

I could see this in a safari and hopefully not in a zoo. They aren't really suited to wildlife, imo. 🕊️👍 Enjoyed this immensely 🙏🏻

This poem although apparently quite upfront makes great use of language for humor and make points. Apparent errors are not but are purposeful if one looks beyond the surface and take on greater meaning. Loved the Cheaters, Tiger with sugar puffs. It would have been flaky and corny to have put it otherwise. The use of African animals and their threatened extinction is a great cause and made for a fun and colorful read. Very nicely done

We live in two worlds, the world of human beings and that of animals, funny how we think we are actually different, when in every respect we are the same. Clever, witty, priceless, loved every stanza.
